PFLP-GC calls Amman meeting a "fatal blow" to Palestinian reconciliation

The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine – General Command has criticized the meeting held in Amman on Tuesday between officials from the Palestinian Authority and the Israeli government, in the presence of representatives of the Middle East Quartet. The meeting was held at the invitation of the government of Jordan.

The leftist group issued a press release in which it noted that the meeting shows the PA’s subordination to American dictates and its opposition to the will of the people.

Describing the meeting as a “fatal blow” against the Palestinian reconciliation agreement, the PFLP-GC said, “We are suddenly faced with a new chapter in the kind of tampering that the Oslo-created Authority has always adopted; the Amman meeting with the Zionist entity illustrates the PA’s clear submissiveness to American dictates which serve Zionist interests through a return to humiliating negotiations.”

The PFLP-GC added that the Amman meeting “will encourage the [Israeli] Occupation to pursue its current policies and practices” against Palestinians, including the Judaisation of Palestine, the siege of the Palestinian people in Gaza, and the continuous expansion of settlements. “These are the same policies which have provided the official Arab regime with a pretext to evade its commitments toward the Palestine Cause,” claimed the spokesperson.
