Jewish settler violence continues with arson attack on olive trees

February 20, 2014 at 3:34 pm

Illegal Jewish settlers have set fire to agricultural land resulting in damage to 300 olive trees in the latest example of settler violence in the occupied West Bank. The attack took place on land near Bruqin, thirteen miles west of Salfit. Eyewitnesses said that settlers from the nearby Bruchin settlement were responsible. The attack came just a few days after another group of settlers set fire to 30 acres of Palestinian farmland, damaging 45 olive trees.

The Palestinian village of Bruqin is being targeted by the authorities and Jewish settlers, who have attacked homes and other property there. The Israeli occupation authorities issued a decree recently ordering the demolition of the village mosque and school.
