A group of settlers seized a house of an elderly Palestinian woman in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem yesterday morning. Rifka Al Kurd was forced out of her home by the settlers and under the observation of the Israeli police. Rifka had previously appealed against a governmental decision to vacate her house but the court rejected the appeal.
Hatim Abdel-Qader, the chair of Al Quds Committee in Fatah Movement described the seizure of the house as “a provocative step that would further heighten tension in the Occupied Jerusalem”.
