An Israeli Court on Wednesday extended the detention of Shireen Al-Issawi until the end of “judicial proceedings” under the pretext that she was “dangerous”.
The court adjourned Al-Issawi’s trail and decided to transfer her to HaSharon prison pending ruling in the case.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society said the decision came after the prosecutor accused Al-Issawi of providing services to “prohibited” organizations and demanded to extend her detention.
The Israeli forces arrested Al-Issawi in March on charges of carrying messages between prisoners from Hamas and Islamic Jihad and their leaders.
Shireen was arrested along with her brother Medhat al-Issawi, 41 years old and four other lawyers who work in a law firm which she heads. Shireen is a prominent lawyer in monitoring and documenting Israeli violations against the Palestinian prisoners.
