Israeli forces kidnap a shepherd in southern Lebanon

July 30, 2014 at 10:41 am

Israeli forces kidnapped a Lebanese shepherd early on Wednesday in the town of Sheebaa in southern Lebanon, after capturing a herd of sheep the day before.

Lebanon’s state news agency reported that shepherd Ismail Nabah was kidnapped by Israeli forces and taken to the Israeli occupied Shebaa Farms. UNIFIL, the UN peacekeeping force in the area, is working to attain his release.

Local reports added that the Israeli forces also seized a herd of goats yesterday in the western part of Shebaa, but the shepherd managed to escape.

Israel has not issued an official comment on the matter.

Since the start of Israel’s military assault on Gaza more than three weeks ago, there have been several rocket attacks from southern Lebanon in solidarity with Palestinians.
