The farcical ruling

April 27, 2015 at 12:27 pm

I have already said that the Egyptian judiciary has died, but today I can explain that it had died of a military heart attack and its body has been buried before the eyes of the world. Everyone is looking down on the judiciary and no mourners have come to pay their respects, although their spitting has reached and drowned its rotting body in a disgusting swamp befitting of the judiciary’s low standing. Even before the eyes of its lord, the judiciary is in the lowest circle of hell. However, this does not seem enough for the judiciary, as it continues to seek lower levels of shame and disgrace never seen before since the beginning of time. It has sought to become an example and sole model of something that has never been seen before, nor will it ever be seen in the future.

The ruling issued against the legitimate Egyptian President Dr Mohamed Morsi is the greatest manifestation of this lowliness. In the farcical case, known in the media as the “Ittihadiya incidents” case, in which 11 Egyptian citizens were martyred, eight of whom were members of the Muslim Brotherhood; those names were not on the list of charges against Dr Morsi and the other defendants. Their names were deliberately left out by the prosecution and they were only charged with murdering three individuals in the first degree. This fabricated case, which is an example on how fascist military regimes fabricate cases, was the first case in which President Mohamed Morsi is referred to a court after he was abducted and detained in an unknown location.

During this trial, we heard the leaked conversation in which the Attorney General is yelling at the coup leaders and officials that he is facing a legal problem that may topple the entire case, allowing Morsi to walk the street the next day. This is due to the fact that Morsi was not detained in a police centre, which may invalidate the case and make it legally void.

We also heard leaked conversations revealing how the coup gang agreed to forge some paperwork and change the place in which President Mohamed Morsi was being detained, from a military naval base to a police centre. After a number of farcical hearings, no less farcical than the entire trial itself, the judge pulled up his sleeves and announced a mockery of a ruling. Did we actually expect otherwise from these mockeries who are the object of the world’s disdain and contempt? The world’s contempt and mockery only increased after the judge issued a ruling finding President Mohamed Morsi and his companions innocent of murder and possession of weapons, but still sentences him to 20 years and five years on probation after his release on charges of showing force and violence. Have you seen anything so farcical or foolish than a president, who is the highest executive authority in the country and the only authority authorised to possess and use means of force, being accused of showing force?

I do not give this ruling any weight and it is meaningless and worthless in the eyes of the free Egyptians who are fighting against the coup and are working to topple it. Perhaps this ruling will hasten the downfall of this coup. Moreover, this ruling does not diminish the status or position of President Mohamed Morsi, as the coup leaders believe it does. Instead, it glorifies him and raises his status in the eyes of the free people, and he has become a symbol for all of the free people of the world, while it diminishes the coup in the eyes of the world.
