European boycott of Israeli Defence Exhibition impacts army and police

June 3, 2015 at 11:13 am

Israeli security sources have said that the French, British, German and Scandinavian boycotts of the Israeli Defence Exhibition (ISDEF) affect the Israeli army. They also stated that the boycott did not come as a surprise and that the exhibition was not a failure.

France, Britain, Germany and some Scandinavian countries prohibited their security companies from participating in the exhibition in which 20 countries exhibited their products.

According to today’s issue of Maariv newspaper, the exhibition was attended by about 4,000 people on its first day yesterday, including military leaders and ministers from Europe and East Asia.

A security source said that the “charade is well-known”, adding that Israel is aware that a number of countries claim to have good relations with it but do not give permission for their companies to go to the exhibition.

The source added that the boycott is noticeably harming and impacting the capabilities of the Israeli army and police to comprehensively study the products being used in the security sector around the world.
