Netanyahu: I met with Arab leaders who don’t recognise Israel

December 2, 2015 at 1:21 pm

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has met with several Arab leaders on the sidelines of the climate change conference in France, claiming that they initiated contact and one leader “praised” his speech before the United Nations.

According to Haaretz newspaper, Netanyahu said: “Arab leaders approached me before the eyes of the whole world and shook my hand… I’m not talking only of those with whom we have relations, there were others, too. One of them expressed appreciation for my speech in the United Nations. Something different is happening here.”

He added that his handshake with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was part of “diplomatic protocol and I behave as is customary”.

“I do not wish for the collapse of the Palestinian Authority,” he added.
