Campaign to rebuild houses destroyed by Israel

December 7, 2015 at 11:42 am

Palestinian youths yesterday launched a campaign to raise funds for the rebuilding of the houses of Palestinian prisoners after they were destroyed by the Israeli occupation in the West Bank city of Nablus, Anadolu Agency reported.

Dr Tarif Ashour, one of the organisers of the “Rebuilding the homes of the free” campaign, said the drive would continue until Friday when mosque goers would be asked to donate. An announcement regarding the total amount raised would be made at one of the houses which were destroyed by occupation forces last week.

Four Palestinian prisoners accused of shooting an Israeli settler and his wife near an illegal settlement in the occupied West Bank had their houses destroyed last week.

The shooting followed Israeli settlers’ arson attack on a Palestinian house in Nablus, killing a father, mother and a toddler, while another child is still undergoing treatment at an Israeli hospital having suffered severe burns following.

Ashour said he expected to raise sufficient funds to rebuild all four houses.
