Blind and deaf children in Gaza learn the Qur’an in Ramadan

June 27, 2016 at 1:16 pm

For the fifth year, visually impaired children in Gaza joined the Qur’an recitation course held during the holy month of Ramadan to learn how to read the Holy Book.

The Qur’an and Sunna Society, a charity in Gaza, organises courses and provides copies of the Holy Qur’an written in Braille.

Mohamed Yassin, the course supervisor, told MEMO that the charity started to organise these courses because there was a big demand.

Some 120 blind children, both males and females, have completed these course over the last four years, Yassin said.

The charity also runs courses for deaf and hard of hearing children with scores of children learning to read the Qur’an.
