Turkish jets hit four terrorist positions late Saturday evening in Syria’s al-Kadi and Wuguf areas in the north-western Aleppo province as part of Turkey’s Operation Euphrates Shield to clear Daesh out from its southern border region, security sources said.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said Turkish warplanes hit three Daesh targets in the al-Kadi area and another in the Wuguf region between 9:51 p.m. and 11:19 p.m (1851-2019 GMT).
Operation Euphrates Shield, which was launched on Aug. 24, aims at improving security, supporting coalition forces, and eliminating the terror threat along Turkey’s border through FSA fighters backed by Turkish armour, artillery, and jets.
Syria has been locked in a vicious civil war since early 2011 when the regime of Bashar al-Assad cracked down on pro-democracy protests.
