Daesh has threatened to launch attacks against the US, France and Germany in retaliation for the bombing of its headquarters in the northern Iraqi Governorate of Nineveh, Iraqi News reported yesterday.

Mosul, the capital of the governorate which has been a Daesh stronghold since 2014, has been under heavy bombardment from coalition forces.  70 Daesh members were reportedly killed following hours of fighting with Iraqi forces, which are currently locked in battle to re-take Mosul, Iraq’s second largest city.

Speaking to Iraqi News, a local source reported that the announcement was made by a Daesh leader in Hiba Khatoun mosque.
