Attacks on Libyan official’s home condemned

Libya’s Presidency Council (PC) has condemned the attack by armed forces loyal to Field Marshal Khalifa Hafter on the home of House of Representatives (HoR) member Amer Omran. The attackers also seized Omran’s brother.

Omran, who was not at home at the time of the attack, said armed men stormed his house and arrested his brother. He said attackers were from the official state force.

The Libyan official has been subject to repeated political harassment and threats in recent months due to his support for the Libyan Political Agreement and his alliance with Libyan militia leader Ibrahim Jadhran.
