Morsi's son: I long to see my father even for a minute

The son of Egypt’s former President Mohamed Morsi said he longs to see his father even for one minute.

“I pray to see you a free man, my father, and I long to see you even for one minute,” Ahmed Mohamed Morsi posted on Twitter.

On 5 June 2016 Morsi’s family said they have been prohibited from visiting Egypt’s first democratically elected president since November 2013, noting that they do not know anything about his place of detention, the conditions he is being held in or the state of his health.

They have also been unable to send clothes or any of his personal belongings to him.

Morsi was ousted in a military coup which brought to power military man turned President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in July 2013.
