Kuwait has donated $4.5 million to Palestinians families whose homes were destroyed during Israel’s 2014 war on the Gaza Strip, a senior Palestinian official announced today.
Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mufeed Al-Hasayneh, told the local news agency WAFA that the money was granted by the Kuwaiti government and would be distributed among 550 families whose houses were completely destroyed during the 2014 conflict.
The ministry has informed the families that the funds are available to them.
He expressed gratitude to the State of Kuwait for its support for the Palestine people.
In July 2014, Israel launched mass strikes on the Gaza Strip which lasted 51-days and killed 2,200 people, the majority children, according to the UN. The Israeli aggression also caused huge damage to the Strip’s buildings and infrastructure.
