Kuwait PM questioned for ‘violating the law’

Kuwait’s parliament began questioning Prime Minister, Sheikh Jaber Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, in a secret session on charges of “violating the law”.

House Speaker, Marzouq Al-Ghanim, announced that the session will take place in secrecy and ordered the room to be vacated, at the request of the Minister of Justice and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Faleh Al-Azab.

The session covered issues related to the country’s security and could not be discussed in public, Al-Azab explained. The prime minister was questioned about accusations of illegal weapons agreements, violations of the law, misuse of authority in citizenship withdrawal, corruption, hiring unqualified people in senior positions and financial violations..
