Two years after Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal publically attacked then presidential candidate Donald Trump describing him as a “disgrace not only to the [Grand Old Party – the Republicans] GOP but to all America”, Trump’s hidden threats to the prince have materialised.
The prominent Saudi billionaire was arrested on Saturday along with 11 princes and a dozen former ministers in a new anti-corruption probe.
The incident dates back to 2015 when the prince called on Trump in a Twitter message to “withdraw from the US presidential race” because he will never win. At the time, Trump fired back saying: “Dopey Prince @Alwaleed_Talal wants to control our US politicians with daddy’s money. Can’t do it when I get elected.”

Al-Waleed was part of a group of investors who bought control of the Plaza Hotel in New York from Trump as well as an expensive yacht.
