The Saudi imams of the Grand Mosques in Makkah and Madinah did not mention the situation in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque during their Friday sermons, Shehab.ps has reported. Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem is regarded as the holiest place in Islam after the two Grand Mosques.

Although he did point out that the Kingdom “reiterated the legal rights of the blessed Palestinian people” and hailed King Salman and other Muslim leaders for seeking the best for Islam and Muslims, well-known Shaikh Maher Mu’eqili did not mention the issue of Jerusalem in his Makkah sermon. Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bu’ejan, who delivered the Friday speech in The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, did not mention the issue at all. Instead, he discussed God’s miracles in the change of the seasons throughout the year.

In the wake of Trump’s decision about Jerusalem, the Saudi Royal Court ordered the local media not to give the issue wide coverage, Al-Araby Al-Jadeed reported. The Saudi and Bahraini Embassies in Amman also called on their citizens living in Jordan not to take part in the demonstrations organised to protest against the US move.

While the international community has almost unanimously disagreed with Donald Trump’s announcement, reports suggest that the announcement was done with the pre-agreement of Egypt and Saudi Arabia, with the Saudi Arabia going as far as, allegedly, stating to the Palestinian President to accept a village on the outskirts of Jerusalem as the alternative Palestinian capital.

How did al Aqsa get to be the “third holiest site in Islam”?

    • whosonfirst

The story goes that God sent something like a flying horse to Muhammad that took him to where the second temple had been before taking him to heaven, Muhammid was in living in Medina at the time if I remember correctly, but you should be able to look it up presently. After returning, Muhammad told some of his friends about the journey and requested they eventually unearth the site of the second temple. After Muhammad’s death, a friend that took over, lead the Muslims to Jerusalem and took over in a bloodless coup. Remember, the crusader’s always slaughtered everyone but no one was harmed in this take over. As the friend walked around Jerusalem he recognized from the description Muhammad gave where the temple had been. Remember, the Romans had kicked the Jews out and had torn down the temple as Jesus had predicted. To add insult to injury, the Romans had turned the site into a garbage dump and no one else knew where the temple had been. So the friend hiked up his robes, filled it with garbage and walked to another place to dump it. His followers seeing him do this did the same and they eventually uncovered the site of the second temple. You won’t get the Jews to admit it but they would not know where the temple had been if it wasn’t for the Muslims. Eventually, some Muslim built a cover over the rock that Muhammad described as the launching point for the flying horse. And so al Aqsa became the third holiest site after Makkah and Medina.

“no one else knew where the temple had been”

Yeah, those massive walls with a huge paved area on top were just hidden away

By the way, the most bloody event in the area during the crusades was done by muslims.

        • charliematerne

Read ” ” 1925 Wakf Temple Mount Guide or THE MOSQUE OF AL-AQSA or Temple mount”. Text version is interesting enough with its references to the Temple, King David, King Solomon, Byzantine and Crusader architecture, but the PDF version is a copy of the actual guide with photos of said architecture. Enjoy

        • Abdishukri Sheikh Umar

If you had learnt that history with an open and unbiased mind you would have known how great Islam and Muslims really are and how barbarian crusaders were and are till today. But sorry where hatred black ended most christian and Jewish extremists.

          • Fasdunkle

The crusades followed centuries of attacks by muslims against Christendom

          • Sam Larsen

Abdishukri Sheikh Umar, if you had learnt that history with an open and unbiased mind you would have known how horrible Islam was and still today. What ISIS has done Iraq and Syria is a perfect example of the horrors of Islam when muslims invaded Jerusalem, Egypt, India, Afghanistan, Persia, constantinople and the Balkans.

        • Abdel

Yep indeed crusades where so peacefull that people just exaggerated about it by throwing religion out of the windom in Europe and taking the secularism route. I wonder where those atheist came from IN Europe. Perhaps they couldn’t handle the love of Crusaders?

          • Fasdunkle

Crusades weren’t peaceful at all, neither were the muslims. In the West we have freedom of and from religion – now that people can’t be persecuted/executed for being atheists lots more people are announcing their atheism. The same would happen in muslim majority countries if they weren’t persecuted/executed/murdered.

          • Sam Larsen

Abdel, what were the muslims from Arabia doing in Israel before the crusades?

      • charliematerne

That’s an interesting rewrite of history. Where in the Qur’an is Jerusalem even mentioned let alone stated as the location of “the Farthest Mosque”? Muhammad had his DREAM six years before his death. Al Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem was built 80 years AFTER his death. Why does the “third holiest site in Islam” have Jewish Kings mentioned (David’s Gate, Solomon’s Stables) as parts of its architecture? Why does the “third holiest site in Islam” contain Byzantine and Crusader Architecture in its make up? Shouldn’t such a high “holy” place have purely Islamic architecture? Why dies the ” 1925 Wakf Temple Mount Guide or THE MOSQUE OF AL-AQSA or Temple mount” clearly state that it was built over Solomon’s Temple when Muslims are now denying any Jewish connection to the Temple Mount, Jerusalem or any of Israel?

        • Abdishukri Sheikh Umar

You don’t know anything, learn the something before you ignorantly talk or write about it. Do not hatred against Islam blind you, brother in humanity.

        • Abdel

@charliematerne:disqus @The second place of worship built on earth for god is Al Aqsa, Al Aqsa doesn’t mean the mosque only but the whole area is blessed like mentioned in the Quran surah 17:1. Your point of view shows that you don’t know anything about Islam and are just ranting what the Zionists told you to rant. Firstly Islam is not a new religion and a house of worship existed before profet Mohamed pbuh even came. Islam is not a new religion, there is only 1 god and he was always one and he send many prophets to remind us about it so places of Worship where there from the begin of time, Islam didn’t invent anything, Islam only corrected the Jews and the Christians in regards who god is. Everyone who worshiped god alone and didn’t associate partners with him was a moslim. A moslim means someone who submits to the will of 1 god. Jesus is a moslim, moses was a muslim, Ibrahim is a moslim (may peace and blessings be with them all). The Alqsa House of Worship was built as the second place of Whorship on earth, this dates back to our father Adam, the first place of worship was Mekka (Becca how the bible called it, before you throw it out of the bible). There was only 40 years between the buidling of Mekka and Al Aqsa., so even before your so called Zionists even excited to begin with or could make any claim on it, those places of worship where there already. The problem with you people is that you’re the one who likes to change history as you see fit. unlike you, Al Aqsa was there in our tradition forever and wasn’t put there just for our convenience.

          • charliematerne

“The second place of worship built on earth for god is Al Aqsa,” even though the Supreme Muslim Council stated that Mosque was built over the Temple of Solomon? Even though they admit they built on the remains of (and incorporated into the architecture) Christian Crusader and Christian Byzantine architecture. Somehow I don’t think David (David’s Gate), Solomon (Solomon’s Temple) the Crusaders and Byzantines were around in the time of “Adam” ” Al Aqsa was there in our tradition forever and wasn’t put there just for our convenience.” just proves your “tradition” is a lie

          • Abdel

Firstly who was King Soloman? A prophet right and what did I tell you about the prophets? They were all moslims besides the claim that the Temple was located there is a claim coming from the Jews and not something that has been proved by them scientifically. It’s just assumptions. Islam doesn’t mention anything about a temple of Solomon being built there. Till this day they have found nothing,

          • charliematerne

Solomon was a JEWISH King thousands of years before your caravan raiding, robbing, raping, murdering child molesting “prophet” realized that stealing others religious heritage was a way to extort money from them.

“Published by the Supreme Muslim Counsel”
“The side is one of the oldest in the world. Its sanctity dates from the earliest (perhaps from prehistoric) times. Its identity with the site of Solomon’s is beyond dispute. This, too, is the spot, according to universal belief, on which “David built there an altar unto the Lord, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings”. (Page 4)
Are you now saying that the ” Supreme Muslim Counsel” is a Jewish propaganda front?

          • Abdel

Reading is not your strongest thing isn’t it?

          • charliematerne

Obviously, much stronger than for you.

          • Sam Larsen

Abdel, you can call anyone a muslim…..but it is only your personal opinion! It does not mean it is true. Another million muslim will even call you a kuffar, just like the shias, Alevis, Ibadis, ismailis etc., are called kuffar by sunnis. There were no muslims in Israel before Pro MO died. If there was, what was the point of invading Israel after Pro Mo died?

  • MENACHEM BEGIN

So ironic. While Egypt’s top christian clerics insist that Jerusalem is a Palestinian Arab city. The imams of these two Masjid are meek as a lamb. While Jewish rabbis are openly condemning the inhumane act of the Zionist, The Saudi RABBIs are silent. And the Ummah still believes that MBS and his forefathers are not AGENT of ZIONIST REGIME.

  • DEADP00L

Clearly the ‘custodians’ of the 1rst and second Qibila have become either negligent or outright corrupted.

  • KOKOU AZIABA

Jerusalem is cup trembling and immovable rock; you burden with Jerusalem you will be cut into pieces said the Lord

    • Umar Ansar

Know matter what. Trump said. Jerusalem is still capital of Palestine

      • charliematerne

Who were you before three hours ago?

  • KOKOU AZIABA

    Calling Jerusalem the third holiest site of Islam is just a fairy tale. Many Islamic clerics have a doubt on that. The Al AQSA mosque did not exist during Mohammed night journey;

    • charliematerne

It was only 80 years after his death, what’s wrong with that? sarc. off

The night journey is also a fantasy like Superman movie! Why would Pro Mo be wandering in a flying horse in Jerusalem in the middle of the night when Jerusalem is populated by Jews at that time is a scene from a fantasy movie.

Exalted is He who took His Servant by night from al-Masjid al-Haram to al-Masjid al- Aqsa, whose surroundings We have blessed, to show him of Our signs. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Seeing.

Interpretation of The Meaning of Al-Qur’aan 17:1

Jerusalem is still capital of Palestine

  • Abdishukri Sheikh Umar

No Muslim had expected the ulumas standing in the positions of the greatest and most noble of all human beings our beloved prophet(PBBH) would behave like that. I do not know why they are obeying the kings of in Saudi (friends of the enemies of Allah ( US adminstration & Israel) while ignoring Islam and muslims. May guide our ulumas. Humiliated is the muslim ummah when their ulumas can not even say a single word of Haq even if they are in the position of Rasullulaah(SCW).

  • H Mokhbat

They are called by the prophet (saw) the Imams of the Sultan, they only speak what they are told to say and not only in Saudi Arabia, it is almost allover the Muslim Ummah.

  • Unperceived

This article isn’t entirely accurate. I was present in Madinah this past Friday and the at the every end of the sermon, the Imam (Abdulllah B) DID very mildly, mention the situation in Jerusalem saying, paraphrased”[regarding Palestine, it is the third holiest City for Muslims, and the site of Prophet Muhammad’s Ascension; we are all pained by the situation in Palestine, and may God free Masjid Aqsa from the domination by non-Muslims]”

Yes, not a powerful condemnation, but to say even this much in KSA against an American policy is quite bold.

    • Sam Larsen

the site of Prophet Muhammad’s Ascension; Pro Mo was killed by poisoning plotted by his wives. He was buried into a dirty pit in Mecca. How did he ascend through Jerusalem? Via a tunnel from Mecca or through a flying donkey?

  • Basha Jan

kokou aziaba, sam larsen and charliematerne these people comment below is the prime example of west ignorance like they feel proud in incest and gays thats what they learn to disrespect other religious belief. Well by Al- Aqsa we mean what jew said temple of Soloman and christians say sacred tomb, well it was there by the time of Moses(peace be upon him) and Jesus(peace be upon him) but it was not there in MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him) time? Go correct your history, everything is not on fb and google to learn. This knowledge you only learn because you are birth of comic books and movies, you people are direct opposites of knowledge. And by the miracle What MUHAMMAD (peace be upon him) did is By ALLAH. its not for the first time, many Prophets did Miracles before, like Abraham,Moses,Solomen,Jesus (peace be upon all of them). So is this western knowledge to make fun of Prophets. And if you are not believer of any book and are athiest than I can understand why you disrespect everyone because the product of incest can do nothing better. So does many westerners are. Well they make meme of their own God and Savior, what else you expect from them.
