Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas said on Tuesday that the Israeli approval of the United Jerusalem Bill has “killed the peace process” and “initiated war on the Palestinian people,” Arabs48.com and other mass media have reported.

“This makes clear that Israel is basically announcing the end of what is called the political process and the beginning of a policy of dictating matters to the Palestinians,” said Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the President’s spokesman. “There is no legitimacy to Trump’s decision and no legitimacy to the Knesset decisions, and we will not let such projects pass due to their dangerous repercussions on the region and the world.”

The Israeli government, added Abu Rudeineh, must take the blame for the dangerous daily escalation of the conflict and any attempt to take Jerusalem out of the political equation. He stressed that this move will never lead to any “peaceful reconciliation”.
