Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir announced a programme of cooperation with Russia to develop the Sudanese armed forces as a deterrent force to protect the country’s capabilities.
Speaking during a visit to the armed forces’ units stationed in Port Sudan, Al-Bashir stressed that they are ready to protect the coast on the Red Sea and protect the country’s security and stability. The Sudanese president said the programme includes training the armed forces and providing an environment that helps their stability.
He praised the Sudanese armed forces and their role in maintaining security and stability in the country, stressing that “without the armed forces there is no security and stability”.
Peace, he added, had been achieved because of the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
