The Egyptian security delegation has reiterated that it is still continuing its mission in Gaza, noting that it is exerting efforts to end the internal Palestinian division and complete the reconciliation, Thenewkhalij.org reported on Tuesday.

Chief of the Egyptian Security Delegation in Gaza Major General Sameh Shukri said in a statement: “We confirm our presence in Gaza and continuation of our efforts to end the division and complete the reconciliation.”

In addition, the security delegation condemned the explosion attack that targeted the convoy of the Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah during his brief visit to the Gaza Strip.

The delegation also said in the statement: “We evaluate the remarks made by Hamdallah that this incident reinforces his insistence to end the division and complete the reconciliation.”

However, the statement did not comment on Hamdallah’s brief visit to the Gaza Strip, which lasted less than two hours.

As part of brokering the reconciliation efforts, Egypt dispatched a security delegation to the Gaza Strip to follow up on the implementation of the deal.
