John Quigley is Professor Emeritus at the Moritz College of Law of the Ohio State University. Active in international human rights work, Quigley has numerous publications which include books and articles on human rights, the United Nations, war and peace, east European law, African law and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Jerusalem’s Legal Status

Israel’s claim to legitimacy is based primarily on UN Partition Resolution 181 which states that Jerusalem should be an international city. As such, Israel has no sovereign rights over the western or eastern sectors of the city.
