Specialised Criminal Court in Riyadh yesterday launched the first session of the court case to prosecute two Palestinians with Israeli citizenship over claims that they spied for Tel Aviv’s intelligence service Mossad, local media reported.

According to the Public Prosecutor, the two suspects entered Saudi Arabia on Jordanian passports to perform Ummrah, lesser pilgrimage, however they outstayed their visas and were collecting intelligence for Mossad.

According to the indictment, they were also accused of planning to carry out a terrorist attack during the Hajj season in 2014, as well as sympathising with Daesh.

Both were also accused of attempting to divert the course of justice by trying to give false information during the investigation.

The Saudi newspaper Okaz said the two suspects were Arabs who hold Israeli citizenship.
