Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir stated that Canada’s recent tweet demanding the release of a female activist is unacceptable and Saudi Arabia does not accept impositions. He called on Canada to fix its mistake.
Al-Jubeir said in a press conference held in Riyadh that several countries supported Saudi Arabia’s position and refused to interfere in its affairs. He also pointed out that Canada has committed a mistake and must redeem it
He stressed that Canada needs to change its policies with Saudi Arabia, pointing out that “the Kingdom is keen on protecting the interest of the Saudi citizens living in Canada.”

Adel Al-Jubeir added: “There is no need for mediation in the diplomatic conflict with Canada.” He pointed out that Saudi Arabia is considering “taking further actions against Canada,” without disclosing any details.
However, Al-Jubeir confirmed that “Canadian investments in Saudi Arabia are ongoing and will not be changed.”
Referring back to the activists who were at the root of triggering the crisis between both countries Al-Jubeir has declared that “the charges brought against the detained activists will be announced as soon as the cases are referred to the courts.”
