Controversial Orthodox Rabbi and Member of the Knesset Yehuda Glick of the Likud Party yesterday led a group of settlers who stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Glick and his supporters performed Jewish prayers near the Dome of the Rock Mosque in the Al-Aqsa compound amid tight police protection.

The Jewish Temple Mount organisations have recently renewed their calls on supporters and Jewish settlers to participate in the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque throughout the Jewish holidays.

Palestinian authorities have however warned that the continuation of such aggression could drag the region in to further violence.
