Israeli authorities have recently increased their violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron, the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs Yousef Edais said yesterday.

According to the minister; Israeli occupation forces have committed more than 30 violations and stormings against Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevented the adhan (call to prayer) at the Ibrahimi Mosque in Hebron more than 50 times in October.

The minister warned that the dangerous escalations against Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem and Hebron’s Old City are part of plans set by the Israeli government and extremist settler associations to Judaise the areas.

OPINION: Al-Aqsa is on the verge of destruction

“The Israeli government is dedicated to increasing the number of Jewish settlers who participate in the incursions against the [Al-Aqsa] mosque as a prelude to dividing it between Muslims and Jews temporally and spatially,” the minister said.

“The Israeli occupation continues its systematic Judaisation policy including surrounding the Al-Aqsa Mosque and preventing Muslim worshippers from accessing it freely and safely,” he said, adding that the Israeli incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque increase during Jewish holidays.
