Islamic Jihad delegation from Gaza heads to Lebanon through Egypt

A senior Islamic Jihad delegation is heading from Gaza to Lebanon through Egypt, the movement’s sources revealed today.

According to Palestine Today, the Islamic Jihad is to hold the first meeting for members of its political bureau headed by Ziad Al-Nakhaleh.

A source from the Islamic Jihad told Quds Press yesterday that the delegation from Gaza planned to meet with Al-Nakhaleh in Egypt, noting that he arrived in Cairo last week.

However, Palestine Today said that Al-Nakhaleh met with Egyptian officials then he left to Beirut where he plans to meet with other Islamic Jihad leaders.

In September, the Islamic Jihad announced that members of its political bureau had elected Al-Nakhaleh as the movement’s secretary general to replace the ill Ramadan Shallah.
