Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his Sudanese counterpart Omar Al-Bashir yesterday stressed the importance of reaching an agreement on Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam as soon as possible.

Al-Sisi said during a joint press conference with Al-Bashir that joint efforts with Sudan over the past year have culminated in the holding of the Higher Joint Committee in October in Khartoum and the signing of 12 bilateral agreements.

Al-Sisi said he had discussed with Al-Bashir bilateral cooperation projects especially the electricity linkage project and linking the two countries by railway.

For his part, Al-Bashir announced that the two leaders had agreed on several projects in the field of economic security, adding that there is security coordination to ensure the safety of the Red Sea as the most important international waterway.
