Welcome to the pre-launch night of the Palestine Book Awards 2019. We began in 2012 to honour the best new books in English about any aspect of Palestine. Join us for an evening with the shortlisted authors to discuss their works, ideas and inspirations.
This year’s shortlisted authors will be discussing their books with members of the public today before the award winners are announced at tomorrow’s dinner.
The shortlisted authors are:
- Nabil Anani Nabil Anani: Palestine, Land and People
- Noura Erakat Justice for Some: Law and the Question of Palestine
- Isabella Hammad The Parisian
- Islah Jad Palestinian Women’s Activism: Nationalism, Secularism, Islamism
- Yasmin Khan Zaitoun: Recipes and Stories from the Palestinian Kitchen
- Andrew Ross Stone Men: The Palestinians Who Built Israel
- Nadia Yaqub Palestinian Cinema in the Days of Revolution
Isabella Hammad will be joining the conversation via Skype.
Launched in 2012, the Palestine Book Awards honours, commemorates and recognises the best authored works on the subject of Palestine. It has grown ever more influential and popular, with the number of submissions growing significantly.
