Increase of Iran expats in Turkey for investments and real estate

Over the last four years, Turkey has witnessed a remarkable increase in the number of expatriates from Iran seeking to establish businesses or to purchase real estate in the country.

Benjamin Asen, a member of the board of directors of an investment company, explained to Anadolu Agency that last year Turkey welcomed more than 51 million tourists, adding that the number of Iranian tourists exceeded two million.

He disclosed that the Iranian tourists rank fifth among Turkey’s most frequent visitors, observing that they come for tourism to purchase real estate and establish businesses within the country.

Fatih Suyabatmaz, representative of Turkey’s Independent Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MUSIAD) in Tehran, clarified that 3,652 Iranians purchased properties in Turkey in 2018, increasing to 5,622 in 2019.

Suyabatmaz also noted the increasing number of Iranians residing in Turkey for the purpose of investments.
