Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has revealed that 180,000 residential units are being built in the earthquake zones in the south of the country. He made the announcement after a cabinet meeting in Ankara yesterday.
Turkiye and Syria were hit by two devastating earthquakes earlier this year. Almost 51,000 were killed in the twin quakes that hit southern and central Turkiye, and western Syria on 6 February.
In a wide-ranging speech, Erdogan expressed his pleasure at the news of positive foreign trade figures despite the recent nine-day holiday period.
“I think we will reach our goal of $265 billion in exports by the end of the year,” he added.
