Israelis around Gaza are preparing for possible escalation: local media

Israelis living near the Gaza Strip have begun preparing for a possible escalation with the enclave, Hebrew Channel 12 revealed yesterday.

According to the channel: “The countdown has begun, and those living near Gaza are getting ready for a round of escalation with the Strip, given the escalating tensions we have been witnessing in the region day by day.”

The channel further stated: “The firing of test missiles into the sea, the release of incendiary balloons, and the continuation of tensions and incidents at the fence at the border, including shooting at security forces and detonating explosive devices – all of these signs on the ground suggest that we are heading towards a new conflict with Gaza.”

“The residents of the envelope have already started closing the windows of their fortified rooms at night and are preparing to leave the area in the event of a new round of hostilities.”
