Iran’s foreign minister has said that the Israeli war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has reached disturbing proportions, and warned against the situation spiralling out of the control of all parties. Hossein Amir Abdollahian made his comments to Iranian media on Wednesday evening, while on his way to New York City to participate in an emergency UN General Assembly session on Palestine.
“In light of the ongoing massacre and genocide against civilians in Gaza, and the comprehensive support that the US and European countries provide blindly to the Zionist entity, the situation in West Asia has reached a point of concern for all countries of the region,” said Abdollahian. “I warn the US and its proxy Israel that if they do not immediately stop the crime against humanity and genocide in Gaza, anything is possible at any moment and the region will go out of control.”
He stressed the need to stop Israeli attacks immediately and send humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza. The minister also insisted that the Palestinian factions have the right to defend their land against the occupation state of Israel, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.
