Israeli army bulldozers demolished, on Wednesday, 17 historic homes in the southern Occupied West Bank, as the world’s attention is preoccupied with the war on the besieged Gaza Strip.

Hassan Brijiyeh, Director of the Wall and Settlement Resistance Committee in the city of Bethlehem, said the Israeli army and settlers

demolished 17 houses in the village of Shushahla, near Bethlehem

pointing out that the houses

are built of old stone, and are at least 200 years old

He pointed out that settlers, accompanied by Israeli Forces, have demolished the homes, taking advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.

Shushahla, a small village located near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc, between Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Hebron, is inhabited by a few Palestinian families, most of whom had been displaced during the past years, as a result of settler attacks.

The West Bank has been witnessing a wave of tension and field confrontations, coinciding with the Israeli army launching a war on the Gaza Strip for the 26th day in a row.
