India: Australian tourist destroys Palestine mural

An Australian tourist was held for questioning by Indian police after she destroyed a Palestine solidarity mural in the southern state of Kerala. The tourist was challenged by locals after she tore down the poster, which said: 'Silence is violence, stand up for humanity'. Kerala is governed by the pro-Palestine, left-wing party Community Party of India (Marxist), CPI-M, and Palestine murals and solidarity protests are much more common there than the rest of the country, where pro-Israel marches have taken place in northern and central states.
