Cambridge Uni Camp: 'We won't leave until they divest'

MEMO was invited inside the tents at Cambridge University's Palestine camp, where students have been sleeping on the lawn outside King's College for over two weeks. While mainstream media outlets have been largely shunned by these students for their biased coverage, MEMO was shown the inner workings of the camp by Cambridge for Palestine, who intend to stay for months if they have to. The camp now has electricity for students to study, regular food donations, communal shelters, blankets and sleeping bags for all, as well as an emergency toilet. Mahmoud, a spokesperson for the movement in Cambridge, said the students have been 'united by the genocide' after they realised their university was complicit in death and destruction in Gaza through its investments in arms firms that supply Israel.
