Turkiye has condemned Israel’s targeting of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in the Gaza Strip, in Ankara’s latest criticism of Tel Aviv’s ongoing offensive and war crimes in the besieged Territory.
Yesterday, a photo was released showing Israeli soldiers posing in front of the rundown Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital, the only hospital to have provided cancer treatment in Gaza. Prior to destroying it, Israeli forces used the building as a military base, denying cancer patients essential treatment.

In a statement today, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said that the “photo in the Palestinian press showing a group of Israeli soldiers in front of the Turkish-Palestinian Friendship Hospital in Gaza is further evidence of Israel’s violation of international law and international humanitarian law”.
Emphasising that it was “the only centre for cancer patients in Gaza”, the Foreign Ministry stressed that “the damage caused to the hospital by the Israeli forces and its use as a military base is part of Israel’s systematic policy aimed at the annihilation of the Palestinian people.”
The Ministry added that Ankara “will continue to work to ensure that those responsible for these attacks are brought to justice in international courts”.
