The Israeli occupation forces have carried out yet more violent raids across the West Bank, assaulting local Palestinians and closing currency exchange offices. The Palestinian Information Centre has reported that a number of areas were affected.
According to local sources, for example, the occupation forces stormed into Beit Ummar near Ramallah, raided homes and clashed with local youths. They also stormed into Qalqilya City, fired stun grenades in the main market, ambushed local young men, and beat one of them severely before letting him go. Drones were flying overhead throughout the seemingly pointless raid.
In Jerusalem, a large number of Israeli police stormed Shahada neighbourhood in Shuafat refugee camp, with no reported arrests. Meanwhile, several currency exchange offices in Al-Balou neighbourhood of Al-Bireh were attacked by soldiers, who put up notices ordering their closure.
Israeli forces also stormed the eastern area of Nablus City at dawn to secure the area for Jewish settlers who flocked to Joseph’s tomb. All Israeli Jewish settlers and the settlements in which they live are illegal under international law. The occupation forces reportedly clashed with local youths. Resistance fighters opened fire at Israeli forces in Balata Al-Balad in eastern Nablus and detonated an explosive device near their vehicles.
