EU prefers a political solution in Syria

The EU has said that the best choice for solving the conflict in Syria is dialogue and not the use of force, which would have disastrous results on the whole region.

Michael Mann, the EU’s spokesman for foreign policy, also said on Wednesday that, “The EU strongly condemns the use of chemical weapons in Syria.”

He reiterated that the EU views a political solution, represented by talks, as the best way forward in Syria. He called for all parties to concentrate on supporting dialogue and human relief efforts at this stage.
