Egyptian and Israeli aircraft fly over Rafah

Egyptian Apache attack helicopters and Israeli reconnaissance aircraft flew over the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, before heading for the Egyptian city of the same name on the other side of the border.

The border crossing at Rafah was also scrutinised closely by the aircraft. Witnesses in Gaza said that smoke was seen rising on the Egyptian side of the border.
