February 5, 2014 at 1:47 am

Egypt’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Badr Abdel Aty has denied the reports that Egypt and Qatar are making efforts to reconcile, pointing out that both states have adopted different approaches to amending their bilateral relations, and Egypt believes that actions, not mere words, will ultimately prove which state is serious with its intentions.

Abdel Aty told Dream TV that: “Egypt has been clear over its points of difference with Qatar. The Qataris are aware of these differences, which include the pan-Arab Al-Jazeera Network.”

The spokesperson also denied the claims of deteriorating relations between Egypt and Libya, calling them mere rumours. Abdel Aty is reported to have said: “the relations between Egypt and Libya are very strong. The foreign minister has assured me today that any reports claiming that Egypt and Libya have severed their ties are mere rumours.”
