Tens of thousands demonstrate in support of Tunisia's government

In one of the largest demonstrations witnessed in Tunisia since 2011, tens of thousands marched on the capital, Tunis, on Saturday in support of the Islamist-led government.

In a calculated show of strength, supporters of the Nahda party gathered near the offices of the prime minister shouting, 'no to coup, yes to election.'

Al-Nahda had called on its members and partners to turn out in support of the country's government. Since the 3 July coup in Egypt, Tunisia has witnessed a series of opposition protests calling for the resignation of the government.
