Israeli settlers torch 10 Palestinian cars

February 15, 2014 at 1:28 pm

On Tuesday morning Israeli settlers blazed ten Palestinian cars in Dier Jareer neighbourhood in the east of the West Bank city of Ramallah.

Local sources said that Israeli settlers attacked the area, blazed cars and caused much damage to Palestinian properties. This caused a state of fear among the citizens. They left the area without any clashes; the reasons for their attack are not yet known.

Israeli settler attacks on Palestinian properties have increased recently. They uprooted 190 olive and grape trees last week. They inflicted much damage on Palestinian properties, mosques and churches.

Meanwhile, 50 Israeli soldiers and 900 tourists invaded the Sanctuary Yards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday (Monday) from Al-Magharbeh Gate.

One of the guards of the mosque said that the tourists and the soldiers wandered into the Yards; the soldiers were wearing their military uniform, were in separate groups and received religious teachings during their tour.

Invasions by Israeli officials, settlers and soldiers have increased recently. The guards told Al-Ray news agency that invaders have been seen holding placards with unknown writings. “Of course, they have religious connotations and this is very dangerous,” he said.
