The head of Hamas’ political bureau, Khaled Meshaal, has called on the Palestinian people to repudiate what he described as the “worn out conditions” which failed to support their rights and fundamental principles and to start creating a new Palestinian reality which brings an end to internal division and achieves national reconciliation based on the principle of valuing resistance.

While opening the eighth conference of the International Institute for Jerusalem on Sunday (06.03.11), Meshaal highlighted Hamas’ keenness to reach national reconciliation, stressing that it must be established based on solid grounds that preserve Palestinian rights and principles, and uphold resistance as a strategic choice.

During the conference which was held in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum, and attended by President Omar Al Bashir, a number of Palestinian, Arab, and foreign figures, Meshaal said that occupied Jerusalem had recently witnessed an Israeli campaign to Judaize it and change its religious features while some Palestinians are covering up this Judaization process.

Meshaal called on the Sudanese president and all Arab leaders to form “an Arab umbrella to protect that Palestinian right.”
