Britain: Syria still possesses chemical weapons

May 9, 2014 at 11:46 am

Syria still has enough chemicals to produce enough nerve agents to carry out attacks similar to the deadly attack on Damascus last August “many times over”, Britain warned yesterday.

The British delegate to the International Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, which is charged with destroying chemical weapons in Syria, has accused Syria of delaying the destruction of its arsenal munitions saying it has handed over 92 per cent of its chemical arsenal.

Syria still possesses over 100 square metres of chemical arsenal in one location, the delegation said in an executive council meeting.
