The Egyptian Al-Wasat Party has denied reports of an alleged deal it struck with the Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi regime.
The spokesman of the party, Belal Sayed Belal, said that any talk about a deal is “a mere fabrication.”
In a statement on Sunday, Belal stressed Al-Wasat’s support for the January 25 revolution and its goals, citing the party’s opposition to the successive regimes since Mubarak.
“We will remain consistent in our opposition to despotism and to anything that contradicts our principles,” he said.
