Israeli intelligence service Shin Bet has asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to strike a prisoner swap deal with Hamas warning that if this doesn’t happen, Israel is going for a fiercer confrontation with the group in Gaza, Israeli media reported yesterday.
According to the leading Israeli newspaper Haaretz, Shin Bet warned Netanyahu to accelerate a prisoner swap deal with Hamas.
“You either choose the prisoner swap as soon as possible or a fiercer confrontation with the resistance in Gaza is coming,” Haaretz reported Shin Bet saying to Netanyahu.
In the last few weeks, several Israeli sources spoke about the loss of two soldiers in Gaza who are thought to be “alive” with Hamas.
