Some 49 British Members of Parliament have signed a petition against a scheduled visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi to the UK which comes at the invitation of British Prime Minister David Cameron, Almesryoon reported.

A protest is scheduled to take place on 4 November outside 10 Downing Street ahead of Al-Sisi’s visit due to begin the following day.

Sources from the Muslim Brotherhood said that many civil society organisations have expressed their rejection of the upcoming visit.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said the government is collecting evidence to prove the Muslim Brotherhood’s involvement in “terrorist acts” in order to submit it to the British investigation committee which probes the group’s activities.

Senior Muslim Brotherhood leader Mohamed Soudan said: “The British authorities have sufficient experience to conduct their own investigation and will not be deceived by the Egyptian regime’s lies.”
