International activists have launched a global campaign through social networking sites calling for an end to the nine-month siege imposed by Houthi rebels on Taiz in northern Yemen.
The campaign was kicked-off on Saturday and aims to highlight the humanitarian disaster and suffering in the city. The hope is to mobilise the international community, including regional and international powers as well as humanitarian organisations, in order to break the siege.
The e-campaign is being conducted in several languages, including English, French, German, Chinese, Russian, Turkish and Farsi.
