Libya’s ministerial council has announced that it is accepting the resignation of four members of the national unity government, agencies reported on Friday. No reasons were given.
The government’s information office posted the news on its website that the ministers who have resigned cover finance, justice, economics and commerce, and reconciliation issues.
The head of the Ministerial Council, Fayiz Al-Sarraj, announced his government on 15 February this year. He appointed 13 officials to look after ministerial portfolios as well as 5 state ministers.
Al-Sarraj’s government was approved in the same month, but due to the interruption of the parliamentary sittings, the ministerial council gave its members the green light to operate without being sworn in before MPs.
